WEBThere's no point grinding that early, at least wait until you ger the desert region and it's metal slimes. There is a sidequest there that requires 3 specific characters to be pepped up at the same time, so I ended up getting a lot of exp trying to do that quest (bad luck with pep running out before the 3rd pepped up) supervaan 5 years ago #6.

WEBBased on that, my guess is it will be like a 3 to 4 out of 10, assuming DQ 8 is a 5 out of 10 in terms of grind. But hopefully more experienced players can weigh in. (BTW for DQ 8 on 3DS there is a trick to minimize grinding. Played through the entire game in Japanese, The game isn't grindy at all.

WEBExcept for the post game, no grinding. Just don't avoid too many enemies. My advice would be to use the forge at ever opportunity as this produces weapons and armour superior to what's available in shops. Also in the early game try to complete each side quest ASAP as the rewards can be good.
